Quiet simply, the best kind of leaders believe in serving others; in giving back to pave the way not only for their success, but for the success of others. There is a "lioness" attitude towards conquering and/or achieving success. Many believe that power is solely about looking out for yourself; running over any others standing in your way- even if it means you scheme and manipulate to get by your opponent. However, how we get ahead of the game- most likely will determine how long we stay ahead. Controversy and strife can be the worse kinds of permanent stakes.
Oprah Winfrey once said, "For everyone one of us that succeed's, there was someone else there to show us the way out [...]". When I first heard this, I thought of all the people that have impacted my life, and I realized their influence made me stronger; they gave me personal strength in who I am. It is important and essential that we climb to the top with an agenda that is inclusive of making a difference not only in our personal life, but the lives of others. And yes, this is not per say a fact- but it is a personal belief that the investment we make into serving others is an extension of the power that we give to ourself.
Perhaps, this is a naive assertion of obtaining power. Maybe, there is a majority that do not believe that the purpose in which you invest your passion ultimately strengthens your power. However, one must be careful in how others perceive them. The investment of service that we give to others is what strengthens our mind, body, and soul- the most important elements that we need to live each and every day.
Living ruthlessly is a very lonely road. The amount of callous and harshness that goes with such cruelty- is pitiful wrecklessness. The challenge is reaching your peek and providing others with the opportunity to do the same through your personal guidance and example. This is extremely difficult for some, but it is one of the most powerful traits to have.
Cheers to the season to pay it forward.
